Skopje, 13 February 2026 (MIA) — Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on a visit to Munich to attend the 62nd Munich Security Conference met earlier Friday with European Council President Antonio Costa and discussed the country's European path and reforms.
"We talked openly and honestly about Macedonia's European perspective, the reforms we are implementing and the challenges that stand in the way of our full membership in the European Union. I clearly conveyed our position that Macedonia remains committed to the European path. But, at the same time, Macedonia deserves a dignified and principled process based on European values and not on bilateral conditions," PM Mickoski said on social media.

He said the government was working on essential reforms regarding the rule of law, the fight against corruption, economic stability and a better living standard.
"Our European future is not just a political goal; it is a choice for a better country," Mickoski said in a Facebook post after his meeting with Costa, adding that the government will keep working "responsibly, honestly and with a clear vision for Macedonia in Europe!"

Earlier Friday, Mickoski met Friday with the management of 4iG to discuss an investment package worth EUR 100 million in several sectors in the country. He also had a working meeting with the management of Germany’s Schwarz Group, the parent company of Lidl and Kaufland. mr/
