Skopje, 14 December 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, expects that by the end of the year, the vacant ambassadorial posts in several of the country’s diplomatic and consular missions will be filled.
As Mucunski informed Saturday, consultations are underway, but due to the confidential nature of the process, specific names cannot be revealed yet.
He added that the functioning of the relevant diplomatic and consular missions, though lacking ambassadors, remains unaffected.
"It is true that many positions of heads of our diplomatic and consular missions are being vacated. However, this will not affect the functioning of these missions, as we already have highly-ranked diplomats who will temporarily take on these roles and will carry out their responsibilities effectively and professionally. There is an ongoing consultation process, and I anticipate that we will have staffing solutions for some diplomatic and consular missions by the end of this year. However, the appointment of ambassadors is a highly regulated and confidential matter, and therefore, I cannot disclose any names at this time. Rest assured that all key ambassadorial positions will be filled promptly, and by 2025, we will continue to fill all our diplomatic and consular missions with ambassadors or consuls," Mucunski added.
