Toshovski: ‘Tiger’ anti-terrorism unit symbol of Macedonian Police’s courage and readiness for 45 years

Skopje, 13 March 2026 (MIA) - Special Anti-Terrorism Unit “Tiger” is one of the key pillars in the security structure of the Interior Ministry. This highly specialized unit must be fully ready at any moment to respond to the most complex tasks and operations, said Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski at an event Friday marking the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the unit.
Toshkovski said the members of the “Tiger” unit are a key part of the Interior Ministry’s most complex activities and regularly take part in operations against the most serious forms of crime.
“Just in 2025, the unit has conducted 26 actions, it has secured several dozens of events, and it has conducted 13 joint exercises with related police and army structures from the country and abroad, including with the U.S. Army’s Green Berets,” the Interior Ministry said in a press release.
The Ministry added that members of the “Tiger” unit have also participated in international and domestic training courses and competitions and saved five people during rescue missions in the past year.
