Skopje, 17 March 2025 (MIA) — Even if there were a working burn ward in the country, it would have the capacity to treat only four to five patients, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Monday during his visit to the injured in the Kochani fire hospitalized at the Skopje Clinical Center.
According to PM Mickoski, the public health care system proved it was ready to respond to major challenges like the Kochani tragedy.
"Our health care system showed that it is resilient and can accommodate this kind of wave, which may be a major challenge for much more sophisticated health care systems and much larger countries than ours, so I congratulate and thank them on my own behalf and on behalf of the government," the prime minister said.
Earlier Monday, Mickoski and Health Minister Arben Taravari attended a meeting of the Ministry of Health's crisis response team. mr/
