Skopje, 29 January 2025 (MIA) - The Parliament ratified Wednesday the Agreement on the Facility between the European Union represented by the European Commission and the Republic of North Macedonia represented by the Government of North Macedonia, regarding special arrangements of Union support for the Republic of North Macedonia, in line with the Reform and Growth Facility.

The total amount of the EU support for the Western Balkans within the Reform and Growth Facility amounts to EUR 6 billion, of which EUR 750 million are available to North Macedonia in period 2024-2027. The funds are to be distributed in three tranches, the first of which, worth EUR 51.5 million, expected by the end of 2025.

The general requirements for the payment of the funds relate to the implementation of fundamental reforms, rule of law, respect of fundamental human rights and freedoms, whereas the specific requirements are formulated in the country's Reform Agenda.
