Ohrid Municipality releases Ohrid Literary Heritage e-books

Ohrid, 26 February 2025 (MIA) — The Municipality of Ohrid has released the digital editions of the books published as part of its Ohrid Literary Heritage project run by Dimitar Pandev, Slave Gjorgjo Dimoski and Mitre Veljanoski.
The digital books are available for a free download at the municipality's website (https://ohrid.gov.mk). The authors believe they will be useful to students and scholars researching Ohrid culture and history.
The Ohrid Literary Heritage imprint was established in 2018. The imprint has put out 11 books: "Come to Ohrid: An Anthology of Poems about Ohrid" (2018), "A Laurel Anthology" (2020), "A Book about Chingo" (2021), "The Ohrid Storytellers" (2022), "A Book about the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius" (2022), "A Book about the Holy Brothers Clement and Naum of Ohrid" (2022), "Ohrid's 19th Century" (2023), "The Ohrid Poets" (2023), "The Ohrid Writers for Children and Young People" (2024), "The Ohrid Playwrights" (2024), and "Critical Essays on Ohrid Writers" (2025).
Three more books are forthcoming in 2025: "The Ohrid Folklorists," "Ohrid Historiography" and "The Ohrid Literary School."
According to the authors, the purpose of the imprint is to compile information on all of Ohrid's intellectuals, revolutionaries, and other public figures who have left their mark on local history.
"Our duty is to preserve the Macedonian language, the memory of the Macedonian greats and of all our predecessors who paved the way for Macedonian culture and society," a release from the Municipality of Ohrid said. mr/
