Museum of Skopje mounts memorial art exhibit dedicated to Zagorichani tragedy

Skopje, 25 March 2025 (MIA) — The Museum of the City of Skopje will mount the third "Stop the Terror: May It Never Happen Again" exhibition of paintings and sculptures dedicated to the memory of the people killed in the Zagorichani massacre. The exhibit will run through April 3.

 

On display will be 46 works in various techniques by 44 authors: Stefan Anchevski, Risto Andreev, Andrijana Andreeva, Lile Jovanovska Arsova, Boro Arsovski, Trajche Chatmov, Vasil Chulev, Vladimir Chulev, Jana Maneva Chuposka, Smile Cvetanovski, Tome Danevski, Stefan Dimovski, Angel Dimovski Chaush, Aleksandar Eftimovski, Petar Fidanovski, Dimitar Filipovski, Irena Gapkovska, Gorjan Gjorgiev, Valentina Ilievska, Stefan Jakimovski Stef, Nela Jankovska, Petra Jovanovska, Pavel Jovanovski, Maja Raunik Kirkov, Pavle Kuzmanoski, Kole Manev, Risto Mijakovski, Done Miljanovski, Slobodan Milosheski, Igor Mishev, Tome Mishev, Marija Nikolovska Nanevska, Angel Nacevski, Nikola Nanevski, Petre Nanevski, Sonja Spirovska Ostojikj, Petar Popchev, Ljubica M. Solak, Dimitar Solakovski, Katerina Tanevska, Manuel Tasevski, Nikola Trenov, Mikica Trujkanovikj, and Gligor Vaskov.

 

This year's exhibition marks 120 years since the 1905 tragedy in the village of Zagorichani, in which dozens of villagers were killed.

 

The exhibit is organized by Zagorichani Association and the academic sculptor Petre Nanevski. mr/
