Murtezani: North Macedonia remains committed to European future

Skopje, 17 January 2025 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani met with Polish Minister for the European Union Adam Szłapka in Warsaw on Friday, discussing the priorities of the Polish EU Presidency.

Emphasis was given to the promotion of the European prospects of the Western Balkans, including North Macedonia. Minister Murtezani highlighted the country's accomplishment in the EU accession talks and the support of member-states to the enhancement of the integration process, the Ministry of European Affairs said in a press release.

Minister Szłapka reaffirmed Poland's commitment to active support to North Macedonia's European integration, noting that EU enlargement remains one of the key priorities of the Polish Presidency.

Interlocutors agreed that strengthening of regional cooperation, economic stability and implementation of reforms are of essential significance in creating a stable and prosperous region.

Murtezani thanked Szłapka for Poland's continued support and added that active dialogue with EU members is crucial for successful implementation of the accession process.

North Macedonia remains committed to its European future and the Polish Presidency represents an opportunity for further enhancement of the mutual goals for a stable, integrated and prosperous Balkans, reads the press release.
