A Coruña, 4 February 2026 (MIA) - Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski participated Wednesday in the opening of the 3rd Responsible Artificial Intelligence in the Military Domain (REAIM) Summit, held in A Coruña, the Kingdom of Spain, organized by the Spanish Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs.

The summit, attended by ministers, state representatives of UN countries, representatives of academia and international organizations, focuses on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in a military context and the importance of respecting human rights and international law.

As part of the event, Minister Misajlovski held a bilateral meeting with Spanish counterpart Margarita Robles Fernández, during which they reaffirmed their joint readiness to enhance the defense cooperation between the two countries. The two ministers discussed several potential joint activities and the drafting of a new cooperation plan.

Minister Misajlovski noted that the rapid development of defense technology requires close cooperation between allies in order to ensure security and stability.  

In his statement, the Minister stressed that North Macedonia was the first EU candidate country from the Western Balkans to sign a Security and Defense Partnership with the European Union, stressing that the country will continue to have a firm contribution to regional and collective security.
