Skopje, 18 February 2025 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani took part at the informal meeting of the European Union's General Affairs Council (GAC), held in Warsaw on February 17-18.

Representatives of EU member-states, candidate and aspirant countries discussed current hybrid threats they are facing, the Ministry of European Affairs said in a press release.

Minister Murtezani said in his remarks that North Macedonia is directly affected by hybrid threats, especially upon its full alignment with EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy.

Murtezani noted that disinformation, cyber-attacks and attempts for destabilization of democracy are part of a broader strategy of undermining European values and trust in the enlargement process. In this context, he highlighted the importance of strengthened cooperation with the EU in the field of cybersecurity, information exchange and integration of candidate-states in European security mechanisms, reads the press release.
