Mickoski: Gov't nominated Igor Nikolov for new ambassador to France

Skopje, 29 January 2025 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski revealed Wednesday that Igor Nikolov will be the country’s new ambassador to France.

“At yesterday’s session, the government nominated professor Igor Nikolov for new ambassador of our country to France,” Mickoski said speaking to reporters adding Nikolov’s contract as the prime minister’s adviser for health policies will be terminated after the nomination.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski at a news conference last December announced the law on foreign affairs will undergo changes so as to establish professionalism of the diplomatic services and improve the functioning of the entire state system involved in diplomatic processes and to take over duties in relation to foreign trade and foreign investments after changes to the law on organization of state bodies were passed.

Under the changes, the number of ambassadors nominated after serving as members of the diplomatic staff at the Foreign Ministry will increase.

At the same news conference, Minister Mucunski said that “all key ambassadorial posts will be filled soon.”
