Skopje, 30 December 2024 (MIA) - Health Minister Arben Taravari told journalists Monday that on a scale from five to ten he would rate the country’s public health system with an eight, noting that they are doing everything they can to improve it and stressing that it does provide quality services to the citizens.
The Minister said human resources, especially in healthcare, are an issue throughout the region.
“What can we, as a Government, do? We can improve services and wages, and we are doing this continuously,” Taravari stressed.
He said there are doctors working in various European countries that are interested in returning to the country.
“I think this is quite encouraging for us. Perhaps the figure is symbolic – three doctors. As a Ministry and Government, I think we should seriously consider how the Health Ministry and Government can open doors for them, at least the ones that are closer, from Croatia or Slovenia and other European countries. If, for example, they have three years work experience in those countries, to return to their country so we can integrate them within our health system,” the Minister said.
