Skopje, 1 July 2024 (MIA) - The Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency will merge into a single agency, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Monday.

"This is the plan and part of the Government's programme. The Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency will merge into a single agency and this process will take place over a period of several months. I expect its successful completion in the Parliament," Mickoski told reporters.

According to him, many NATO member-states have made such mergers, including Slovenia by the end of the 1990s and Croatia at the beginning of the 21st century as examples from the region.
