Goce's Thought award winners announced

Skopje, 31 January 2025 (MIA) — Romanian writer Ion Deaconescu, Macedonian writer Zoran Pejkovski and Croatian writer Nikola Šimić Tonin are the winners of this year's Goce's Thought award for promoting Macedonian literature and culture abroad.


The award is given by Macedonia Present foundation on Feb. 4, in honor of Goce Delchev's birthday and his proverbial sentence, "I regard the world as a field for cultural competition among nations," organizers said.


The award will be presented to the winners at the opening ceremony of the Festival of Tea and Reading, which begins Feb. 4 and will run through March 8.


Previous winners of the Goce's Thought award include Zlatko Kramarić (Croatia), Olga Pankina (Russia), Daniela Kostadinović (Serbia), Tanja Popova (Bulgaria), Sabahudin Hadžialić (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Suat Engüllü (Turkey), Jean-Patrick Conrad (France), Olga Lalić – Krowicka (Poland), Anna Bagriana (Ukraine), and Rodoljub Ćorić (Montenegro). mr/
