Skopje, 20 March 2025 (MIA) - Funerals for the victims of the fire at the “Pulse” nightclub in Kochani will be held on Thursday in Kochani, Shtip, Probishtip, Obleshevo, Strumica and Skopje.
Funerals will also be held Thursday for the members of the band DNK who lost their lives in the fire.
The Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric (MOC-OA), HH Stefan, has called for unity and prayer following the horrific tragedy in Kochani, in which 59 innocent young people lost their lives and over a hundred sustained severe injuries. National unity and solidarity, emphasized the Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia, are most evident and most needed in such tragic circumstances.
On Wednesday, the government instructed state institutions and recommended that local self-government bodies and private sector employers exempt all employees in the Kochani area from work and professional duties.
All those injured in the Kochani tragedy are receiving proper care and medical treatment, both in the country and in specialized medical centers abroad. As reported by the Ministry of Health yesterday, of the 178 injured, 64 patients are being treated in public healthcare facilities in the country and are in relatively stable condition, 13 are in private hospitals, while 101 have been transferred to medical centers abroad.
The fire that broke out at the nightclub in Kochani on Sunday killed 59 people and left over 150 injured.
A seven-day mourning period has been declared in the country for the victims, and mourning days have also been observed in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Bulgaria following the tragedy.
