Skopje, 12 March 2026 (MIA) - Energy efficiency was in the focus of Thursday's meeting between the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, and an EBRD delegation led by the the head of the EBRD Office in the country, Fatih Türkmenoğlu, and the Director of the EBRD's Infra Europe department, Elena Gordeeva.
The meeting was centered on the implementation of energy efficiency in public buildings in the country, which will contribute to a stable and sustainable energy system, the Energy Ministry said in a press release.
Energy Minister Bozhinovska highlighted the Ministry's commitment to swift fulfillment of obligations, according to which at least 3 percent of the total usable floor area of public buildings is scheduled for reconstruction each year, with energy efficiency measures being a mandatory and inseparable part of each reconstruction.
According to Minister Bozhinovska, the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, as the champion of this strategic reform, is pushing hard to secure financial resources for the implementation of the commitments arising from the Reform Agenda.
"Implementing energy efficiency is a major step towards reducing energy consumption, improving conditions in institutions and significantly reducing harmful gas emissions – with direct benefits to citizens and the state," reads the press release.
