Skopje, 12 March 2026 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Thursday with Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) Secretary General Asaf Hajiyev, whose visit is seen as an opportunity to deepen cooperation between the two institutions.

Speaker Gashi said the Parliament's membership in PABSEC is a strategic commitment of the country, contributing to the strengthening of regional parliamentary dialogue and cooperation.

Interlocutors exchanged opinions on PABSEC's activities, current challenges and prospects for regional cooperation, the Parliament said in a press release.

Gashi reaffirmed the Parliament's readiness to actively contribute in PABSEC and the country's commitment in promoting parliamentary cooperation, economic development and legislative reforms in the region.

In addition, Gashi and Hajiyev agreed there is room for further enhancement of cooperation between the two institutions, reads the press release.
