Skopje, 19 March 2025 (MIA) – The University Student Assembly (USA) within Skopje’s Ss. Cyril and Methodius University said no large gatherings will be organized, as it was announced initially, instead, activities to pay tribute to the Kochani fire victims will be organized at the faculties.

“So as not to create large crowds at a time when medical assistance and police are primarily needed in other locations, large gatherings won’t be organized at campuses as initially planned. Activities to pay respect and offer condolences will be organized at faculties by an initiative of the faculty student assemblies with the USA of the Skopje University offering logistics,” said a press release of the USA of the Skopje University.

The student organization confirmed they didn’t invite the education minister to attend Monday’s gathering at the Skopje University campus.

“The minister was neither invited to attend not to deliver a speech. Her speech and its content weren’t included in the event’s agenda. Our decision, passed by a majority at a March 16 meeting, involved only a two-minute address by the rector as a show of solidarity and to extend condolences,” said the USA of the Skopje University.
