Siljanovska Davkova and Karis reaffirm friendly relations, Estonia's support for Macedonian EU path

Skopje, 3 January 2026 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit in Dubai met with her Estonian counterpart Alar Karis, reaffirming friendly relations and Estonia's consistent backing of the Macedonian EU path.
According to the President's Office, Siljanovska Davkova thanked Estonia for its active role in the Friends of Enlargement group, expressing interest in strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
"The President stressed that we remain fully committed to EU membership and one hundred percent aligned with the Union's common security and foreign policy. She underscored that the European integration of the Balkans is a strategic need for the stability and security of Europe," the President's Office said in a press release.

Participants in the meeting welcomed cooperation in digitalization, implemented in partnership with the Estonian Center for International Development, as well as cooperation with the Baltic Defense College in Tartu, and the NATO Cyber Defense Center in Tallinn.
Pointing to untapped potential in economy, Siljanovska Davkova voiced expectations for the development of new joint projects and a greater presence of Estonian investors in the country.
Interlocutors also exchanged views on current global challenges.
