SDSM calls for non-partisan state strategy for country's long-term development

Skopje, 25 December 2024 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche called Wednesday for a joint, non-partisan strategy that will "guarantee the long-term development of the country and will unite political parties around realistic and sustainable plans."

He announced the idea for such a strategy at a press-conference on the six months of the new government, noting that instead of real national platforms, the past six months have only seen political divisions. According to him, SDSM "offers a real solution based on unity and long-term vision."

"Since the SDSM has never been and will never be an unconstructive opposition, I am here to present a real offer, not a fake one for divisions. I call for creating together a state strategy, and a non-partisan, supranational, and supra-ethnic platform. Let's create a common platform in which all parties will have their contribution and is not owned by anyone. It’s a recipe for true unification," Filipche said.

He proposed forming teams from all parliamentary parties that will work on the platform and together define strategic positions in all areas.

"Let's define key projects in healthcare, education, and foreign policy; so that we can stand before the citizens and say this is the plan for the country and these are projects that no government now or in the future will stall and obstruct," said Filipche, adding that this was "real patriotism" and an approach that can "ensure long-term development and stability of the country". ssh/nn/
