REK Bitola has one bloc in operation, expected to reconnect to grid today
Skopje, 13 July 2024 (MIA) - After Friday's outage from the national power grid, one bloc of the mining-energy complex (REK) Bitola is in operation, said Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM).
"Bloc 1 was put into operation late yesterday afternoon. The unexpected failure of the bloc due to a power outage caused a problem in the boiler of Bloc 1, so the complex will be disconnected from the grid during the day. The problem is expected to be remediated by Monday, after which Bloc 1 will be put back in operation and REK Bitola will continue working with two blocs," reads the press release.
The press release adds that start-up operations of Bloc 3 are ongoing, after being interrupted yestarday due to an outage of a 110 kV busbar of MEPSO.
"The plant will be reconnected to the grid today. Overhaul of Bloc 2 of REK Bitola is proceeding smoothly and according to the expected dynamics," ESM said.
