Skopje, 20 March 2025 (MIA) - A police operation is underway late on Thursday regarding the Kochani nightclub fire case. According to preliminary information, the former mayors of Kochani, Ratko Dimitrovski, Nikolcho Iliev and Ljupcho Papazov have been detained.

More information on the operation will be available tomorrow.

Ljupcho Papazov resigned from the post a day after the tragedy and testified before prosecutors, but no decision was made regarding his status at the time.

Dimitrovski was mayor of Kochani between 2009 and 2017, while Iliev held the post between 2017 and 2021.
