Skopje, 19 January 2026 (MIA) — Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski offered his best wishes to Orthodox believers on Epiphany in a social media post, urging the faithful to uphold the values of honesty, solidarity and care for the common good.
"Epiphany is a holiday of revelation, purification and renewal, a day when the water, as the source of life, reminds us of our need for spiritual and moral purity," PM Mickoski wrote on Facebook.
"Epiphany also carries a strong message of faith, courage and readiness to follow the right path, even when it is hard. The blessing of the waters and the casting of the cross is a tradition as well as a living message of trust, sacrifice and hope," he added.
Encouraging believers to foster good relations with everyone, he said they should "come together, support each other and share the joy, showing that the community is strongest when it is united around values that transcend all of us individually."
He also said that everyone had the duty to raise children in "an environment where they will grow up with a strong sense of belonging and responsibility toward society" and wished the Orthodox faithful "spiritual strength, patience and wisdom." mr/
