PM: 2026 to be year of progress and change

Skopje, 31 December 2025 (MIA) — Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski recorded a holiday address to the public in which he said the year ahead was going to be one of progress and change and wished everyone health, peace and strength.

"Dear fellow citizens, the year we are sending off was not easy. It was a year of serious challenges," he said, adding that his government in 2025 had to stabilize and consolidate the state by implementing reforms that were deep and essential instead of merely cosmetic.

"Such reforms take time," he said. "But they are neccessary for a functional state and a healthy society. We are aware that the most important thing for citizens is how things feel in everyday life."

According to the prime minister, "2026 will be a year of moving forward and a year of transformation, a year of growth." He said it would be marked by significant infrastructure projects, stronger support for the economy, new investments and more job opportunities.

"A year of total transformation of Macedonia," Mickoski said.

"A year of hope, but also of a great obligation. An obligation to deliver results. An obligation to justify the citizens' trust. An obligation to continue on the path of reforms, development and stability," he said.

"I wish you all health, peace and strength. Let us enter 2026 with the belief that hard work pays off and that we are moving Macedonia in the right direction. Happy New Year," the PM said. mr/
