Pan-European Union of Macedonia hosts international conference on Western Balkans' European future

Skopje, 21 February 2026 (MIA) - International conference “The European Future of the Western Balkans: Political Integration, Regional Cooperation and Economic Resilience in Times of Global Challenges”, hosted by the Pan-European Union of Macedonia, is set to resume in Skopje on Saturday.

The conference is organized in cooperation with the Pan-European Union of Austria, the Otto von Habsburg Foundation, and the Institute of the Regions of Europe based in Salzburg.

President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova opened the conference late on Friday, with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, Pan-European Union of Macedonia President Andrej Lepavcov and International Pan-European Union President Pavo Barišić set to address the conference's second day.

Three panels will be held within the event, focusing on the Western Balkans' European future, EU enlargement with the region, and Western Balkans-EU relations amid the changing political, security and economic landscape.
