Kiev, 3 January 2025 (dpa/MIA) - One person has been killed and several people were injured near Kiev in the latest Russian overnight drone attack targeting the Ukrainian capital, regional military governor Mykola Kalashnik said on Telegram on Friday.
Among those injured was a 16-year-old male who suffered cut wounds and is being treated in hospital, Kalashnik said.
He identified the person who was killed as a lorry driver.
Several buildings were damaged in the attack, Kalashnik added.
The air defence managed to protect Kiev itself against any large damage, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Despite falling drone debris in two neighbourhoods, no one was injured, he said.
The Kiev military administration said a fire had broken out as a result of the attack but said no major damage had been caused.
Ukraine has been defending itself against a full-scale Russian invasion for almost three years, relying heavily on weapons deliveries from Western allies, including air defence systems.
