Minister Murtezani to visit Brussels on Feb. 4-5

Skopje, 3 February 2025 (MIA) – Minister of European Affairs, Orhan Murtezani will be paying a working visit to Brussels on February 4-5, where he will hold meetings with senior officials from the European Union, the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
During his two-day visit, Minister Murtezani is scheduled to meet with European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, to discuss North Macedonia’s progress in the EU accession process, the Reform Agenda, and the next steps in the negotiation process.
According to the Ministry of European Affairs, meetings are also planned in the European Parliament with Thijs Reuten and Matej Tonin, shadow rapporteurs for North Macedonia, as well as Karlo Ressler, co-chair of the EU-North Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee, to discuss ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between Skopje and Brussels and enhance political support in the European Parliament for the country's progress.
Murtezani’s agenda includes meetings with Matti Maasikas, Managing Director for Europe at the European External Action Service (EEAS) to discuss the current political and security challenges in the region, as well as the geopolitical aspects of enlargement. He will also meet with the President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), Oliver Röpke.
Minister Murtezani's working visit to Brussels represents another opportunity to intensify dialogue with the Union's institutions and strengthen support for North Macedonia's European integration.
