Skopje, 21 April 2026 (MIA) — Liljana Altiparmakova, a distinguished journalist and longtime television news editor, has died, her family announced Tuesday. She was 75.

Altiparmakova dedicated her entire professional life to the Macedonian Radio Television. Joining the national broadcaster in the 1970s, she became a prominent voice covering domestic politics and the economy through the country’s independence in the 1990s and the transition years that followed.

Respected for her knowledge, professionalism and dedication, Altiparmakova left an enduring imprint on Macedonian journalism, mentoring numerous generations of journalists.

The funeral will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday, April 22, at the Butel cemetery in Skopje. mr/
