Skopje, 30 December 2024 (MIA) — As part of 191 inspections of butcher shops and meat processing facilities done over the past two weeks, Food and Veterinary Agency inspectors seized and safely distroyed 620 kg of unsafe food of animal origin, the FVA said in a press release.

The food safety violations that meat inspectors found included selling unlabeled frozen food, failing to meet hygiene requirements, selling food with incomplete nutrition labels, and not providing staff with mandatory health exams.

Three food operators were warned, and 14 were fined, the FVA said. mr/
