Skopje, 23 January 2025 (MIA) – Stimulating a strong cycle of economic growth, improving transport infrastructure, increasing living standards, job creation, modernizing the educational system and accelerating digital transformation are some of the strategic priorities from 2024 until 2028. The government’s work program for 2025, passed at a recent session, will help their implementation.
Economic recovery of the country is top priority, government spokeswoman Marija Miteva stressed Thursday presenting the program.
A timeframe to implement the program has been prepared, which confirms the government’s transparency and predictability, she said.
The program consists of two parts with one part involving acts and materials to be passed by Parliament and the other involving the government.
“The program aims at meeting the strategic priorities in 2024-2028 with each one being designed to respond to urgent challenges: renewing trust in the institutions, efficient fight against crime and corruption as well as rule of law. The program also aims at delivering measurable results,” Miteva told a news conference.
Over 120 bills are included in the first part of the program, including a bill on caseflow management and a bill on amending the law on preventing corruption and conflict of interests. The second is far-reaching covering all segments.
Nearly 100 activities in the program are in connection to the commitments from the 2024-2027 Reform Agenda and the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
“Our vision is clear – a country in which the system functions, a prosperous economy and a government that works for the citizens and in which the citizens trust,” Miteva concluded.
