Prosecutors initiate proceedings against man suspected of damaging Bulgarian embassy's door

Skopje, 13 January 2026 (MIA) – The Skopje Public Prosecution Office has initiated legal proceedings against a man, 55, suspected of breaking the glass door of the Bulgarian embassy in Skopje by throwing a stone on January 11.
The suspect “out of hatred damaged the entry door of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria by breaking it with a stone before leaving the site”, the prosecution said Tuesday.
The public prosecutor, it said, proposed that the man should be put in detention because he is considered a flight risk that could repeat the crime.
The man is charged with damage to property of others according to Article 243 of the Criminal Code.
