Skopje, 5 April 2026 (MIA) — President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova has sent an Easter message Sunday to Skopje Bishop Kiro Stojanov and Catholic believers, wishing them health, joy and love.

The president noted that for nearly 2,000 years, the resurrection of Christ has given people hope and faith in the goodness of human nature.

Addressing modern global conflicts, Siljanovska Davkova said she believes Easter will bring peace and wisdom during a time when war and "dark clouds" have instilled fear in people.

"Jesus Christ taught us that without empathy, solidarity and tolerance," she said, "there is no coexistence."

The president added that she hoped the holiday reminds people that life is stronger than death and light is stronger than darkness, helping society move forward. mr/
