President Siljanovska Davkova meets Kazakhstan Minister Shakkaliyev, reaffirm friendly ties and commit to stronger economic cooperation

Skopje, 20 April 2026 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Monday with Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliyev, reaffirming the positive dynamics of bilateral ties.
President Siljanovska Davkova said communication and high-level meetings have significantly contributed to the strengthening of mutual trust and political dialogue.
Siljanovska Davkova and Shakkaliyev highlighted their commitment to enhance economic cooperation, especially in the fields of energy and renewables, trade exchange, culture and tourism, the President's Office said in a press release.
The President welcomed the second Macedonian-Kazakhstan business forum in Skopje and the signing of two important documents - agreement on setting up a bilateral business council and a memorandum for promotion of trade and economic cooperation.
The Kazakh Minister said the country is interested in Bunardzhik economic zone investments due to the easier access to the European market.
In addition, Siljanovska Davkova and Shakkaliyev reaffirmed the joint commitment of small and mid-sized countries to strengthening multilateralism and the need for a stronger role by the United Nations in the present international order, reads the press release.
