Kumanovo, 24 February 2026 (MIA) - Police detained a Turkish national late on Monday after he was found to be smuggling six migrants – three from Egypt and three from Algeria, the Interior Ministry said in a press release Tuesday. 

“Yesterday, around 9:30 PM at a gas station on the Skopje – Kumanovo motorway, police officials detained O.K. (33) from Türkiye after he was caught smuggling six migrants – three from Egypt and three from Algeria – in a vehicle with Kosovo license plates,” the Interior Ministry said.

The Ministry said it would file the appropriate charges against the detained individual after the case is documented.
