Skopje, 6 April 2026 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, who is in a working visit to Washington, United States, is heading a high-level government delegation to the second Strategic Dialogue session between the two countries, set to be held on Tuesday.

"The Strategic Dialogue is an important platform for deepening bilateral cooperation and promoting the partnership with the United States, with a focus on key areas of mutual interest, including defence and security, cybersecurity and technological cooperation, economy, trade and energy, as well as joint fight against transnational threats, and strengthening border security," the Foreign Ministry said in a press release. 

The Ministry notes that the holding of the second Strategic Dialogue reaffirms the alliance between the two countries and the common commitment to promoting stability, security and prosperity in the region and beyond.

In a recent interview, Mucunski said North Macedonia will be the first country in Europe to hold a strategic dialogue session in Washington under this administration. He expressed expectation that the Strategic Dialogue will open serious discussions in the areas of defence and security, trade and economic cooperation, as well as bring concrete benefits to citizens.
