Skopje, 26 February 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Thursday the portfolio of technological-industrial development zones contains 17 investments worth nearly EUR 650 million and set to open 5,000 jobs.
"The investments, some already launched while others in negotiating stage, are part of the zones' portfolio. They are worth nearly EUR 650 million and are set to open 5,000 jobs, while increasing exports by almost two percent of the GDP," PM Mickoski told a Q&A session in Parliament.
He said that the construction of a wind park built by company "Alcazar" will begin soon and expects it to be operational at the onset of 2028.
On investments in the energy sector, the PM referred to the project signed with the AKSA company over the construction of two or potentially three cogeneration gas power plants. One would be built in Skopje, the other between Gostivar and Tetovo, while the third one once thermal power plant Oslomej is transformed.
"This investment is worth US$ 1 billion, resulting in heating coverage in parts of Skopje where it is not currently available, but also having an impact on the environment," said Mickoski.
