Skopje, 2 March 2026 (MIA) - More than 400 nationals have requested information about the possibility of evacuation, while around 30 of them have expressed readiness to leave countries in the Middle East at the earliest opportunity, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said Monday, citing the latest information it has received from the country’s diplomatic and consular missions.

According to the Ministry, there are currently no safe conditions for the evacuation of citizens currently stranded in the United Arab Emirates and the State of Qatar. Regarding Macedonian nationals in Israel, the Ministry said it is actively reviewing and coordinating potential alternatives for their safe evacuation.

The Ministry said it is in constant communication with all registered nationals and is undertaking preparatory activities for possible assistance and their safe evacuation, depending on how the situation develops.

“At the same time, the diplomatic and consular missions are taking all necessary measures to prepare and ensure the safe evacuation of citizens who have expressed readiness for it. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade is in constant communication with friendly countries and international partners to ensure a coordinated and successful implementation of the procedure,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry said it remains available to the citizens through its 24/7 phone line and the country’s diplomatic and consular missions. It urged Macedonian nationals located in countries across the region to strictly follow the instructions and guidance of local competent security authorities.
