Skopje, 8 April 2026 (MIA) - The Law on Adequate and Fair Representation will improve the quality of the public administration, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Wednesday, after the Government adopted the piece of legislation and forwarded it to the Parliament.
"I think this law will lead to finally overcoming all past stereotypes, all anti-constitutional elements and problems. We finally have a solution for these issues, so that we can build our homeland Macedonia together, through adequate representation," PM Mickoski told reporters.
He added that the Government agreed with the terms of the unions at the last session of the Economic-Social Council regarding the wage increase, while highlighting the need to improve the administration's quality.
"That is our main goal. At the last ESC meeting, the Government agreed to the unions' terms but I also asked them if they agree on measuring the citizens' satisfaction from the work of the administration. We have been measuring this for the third month running now," said Mickoski and said the findings would be presented at the next ESC session.
The PM said he was aware that one law cannot solve everything, noting the need for awareness and a mindset change.
