FM Mucunski and Türkiye's Fidan discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation, investment opportunities

Skopje, 23 January 2026 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Friday with his Turkish counterpart, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, on the sidelines of the second ministerial meeting of the Balkan Peace Platform being held in Istanbul.
In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said talks focused on the bilateral relations, economic cooperation, investment opportunities, and enhancement of cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The two ministers reaffirmed the excellent political relations between the two countries and the successful cooperation in several areas.

“A special emphasis was placed on strengthening economic cooperation and making more efficient use of investment opportunities, as well as the enhancement of cooperation in other areas of mutual interest,” the Ministry said in the press release.
The two ministers reaffirmed the countries’ firm partnership within NATO as well as the mutual support in regional initiatives and multilateral organizations.
Talks also covered regional and geopolitical issues, with the ministers stressing the importance of a stable and prosperous region.
