Skopje, 31 March 2024 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski wishes happy Easter in a greeting sent to Bishop of Skopje and Eparch of Strumica and Skopje, Dr. Kiro Stojanov, and to all Christian believers who celebrate Easter according to the Gregorian calendar.

"Christ is risen! Offering this greeting is the cornerstone of Christian faith that in Jesus Christ, God became completely identified with the suffering of people, paid the price for the alienation of humanity and began to restore the world," Pendarovski said in the greeting. 

Although it is not easy to recognize this in times of crisis and conflict, the contours of this act of restoring are drawn with every act of solidarity towards the most vulnerable among us, adds the greeting. 

"These individual and collective feats are an image of what our society could be like if kindness becomes our highest value. May this holiday encourage us, following Christ's example, to actively participate in the construction of a just and humane Macedonian society with clear moral verticals, and thus in the restoration of hope," reads the President's greeting.
