Osmani: Free and fair elections, higher turnout compared to first round
Tetovo, 31 October 2021 (MIA) – DUI spokesman Bujar Osmani said after the end of the voting in the second round of the local elections that free and fair elections have taken place in the country, with higher turnout compared to the first round.
“The results are coming, but let me congratulate the people for their win, as well as the state and institutions taking part in the electoral process,” Osmani told a press conference.
He congratulated DUI and their political opponent for the successful elections.
“The fact that we had successful elections is a political success confirming that North Macedonia is a mature democracy, a NATO member and EU candidate. At these elections, the green agenda represents the most creative and most successful offer. This is also the trend for the runoff. The local authorities have been elected and they will cope with local challenges as of tomorrow, in parallel with the central authorities and their respective challenges,” added Osmani.
According to him, a calm period without elections will follow in the next three years, which will represent a true opportunity for broad political cooperation on the strategic interests of the country and all citizens.
