Skopje, 16 February 2024 (MIA) – The new seven-member composition of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, whose five-year mandate began on February 8, has a total of 581 cases waiting to be solved in the coming period, said SCPC President Tatjana Dimitrovska, at the constitutive session of the new composition on Friday.

Out of the 581 cases, 547 have been inherited from the previous composition, while 34 are from the period between February 8 and 13, said Dimitrovska.

Regarding the coming presidential and parliamentary elections and the authorizations of the SCPC, Dimitrovska said they’ve sent a notice to 1215 relevant entities – media outlets, civil organizations, budget beneficiaries, political parties, etc., in order to timely and transparently inform them over the legality of the use of budget funds from the day the elections are called until the day they are finished, pointing to all limitations that the institutions have to legally follow.

“With the goal of monitoring and controlling the legality of financing of the election campaign and the overall election process, the SCPC will directly cooperate with the media, civil associations and with the citizens, and to that end we encourage the overall public to report specific violations of the limitations in a timely manner,” said Dimitrovska.

At the constitutive session, the Commission named member Zoran Bogoevski as Vice-President of the SCPC, in line with the provision for a rotating vice-president with a six-month term.
