Skopje, 13 September 2023 (MIA) - In response to a reporter's question on whether VMRO-DPMNE is in communication with the ruling party over the new amnesty law, the party's leader Hristijan Mickoski reiterated that VMRO-DPMNE has cut communication with the Government, adding that it will use democratic tools to block the new amnesty law drafted by the ruling party. 

"I will ask you to carefully follow the statements given by VMRO-DPMNE. VMRO-DPMNE said a few months ago that it is cutting communication," Mickoski said asked if the ruling party is in any formal or informal communication over the new Law on Amnesty or it is drafting it on its own. 

Mickoski added that there is neither any formal or informal, nor will there be any formal or informal communication with the ruling party, and "there is neither any point of added value in the text of that law that has been proposed".

"The law that has been proposed, and is available to the public as of yesterday, is a law on amnesty of criminals for whom certain political parties in the past promised that they would either be freed completely or partially. Unfortunately, those political parties or part of those political parties belong to the government today, and you can see that such a law does neither respond to the needs nor to the expectations of the citizens and therefore, VMRO-DPMNE will not only oppose this amnesty law, but will also block it, through democratic tools," said Mickoski.
