Skopje, 14 December 2023 (MIA) - Cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the Council of Europe and the reform agenda were in the focus of a meeting of Justice Minister Krenar Lloga with CoE Director of Programme Co-ordination, Claus Neukirch, on Thursday.

Strengthening of justice, fight against corruption, promotion of anti-discrimination and protection of rights of vulnerable groups, a more efficient system of free legal aid, and enhancement of the penitentiary capacities are only some of the areas in focus over the upcoming period, the Ministry of Justice said in a press release.

Minister Lloga referred to MoJ's activities in ensuring facilitated access to justice through the opening of free legal aid offices for vulnerable groups in a number of municipalities.

He added that the penitentiary system and improvement of conditions in prisons will be the biggest challenge in the coming years, reads the press release.
