Kovachevski says party to submit financial reports on campaign costs

Skopje, 28 March 2024 (MIA) - SDSM leader Dimitar Kovachevski said Thursday that the party will submit financial reports, as required by law, for the campaign funds spent.

In response to a reporter's question about the costs of the presidential candidate's campaign and which campaign strategists were hired, Kovachevski said the opposition is evading answering the right questions.

"Our party gives answers according to the state's institutional setup. The opposition has nothing to do because they are running away from the right questions. Now they are asking who's meeting who. I know who I am meeting with and who is running my political campaign. The campaign headquarters will decide who is going to be making the election-related promotional material for television billboards, and of course, will then provide financial reports for the funds spent in accordance with the law on political parties and elections," Kovachevski stressed.

He added that information on the campaign strategists in the country are available in the media.

"Those strategists are known in the world of marketing. Anyone can meet anyone they want, no matter whether they end up working with someone or not, it is a choice of the teams involved in preparing the campaigns. However, those that have been involved in politics for the past two or three decades know that around the world, in the region and in our country, there are political strategists and agencies that deal with political marketing and work different election cycles, so I do not think this is a particular issue. This is a common topic and part of every pre-election process," Kovachevski noted. ssh/nn/
