Skopje, 23 June 2022 (MIA) - Minister of Education and Science Jeton Shaqiri met with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Kairat Abdrakhmanov on Thursday, discussing current reform processes and activities to achieve better education quality,. "Inclusiveness is one of the main pillars in the reform process, and a lot has been done to nurture mutual trust and break down prejudices and stereotypes in our schools in recent years and we will continue to work on those issues," said Minister Shaqiri. Reforms in vocational education in secondary schools were also discussed at the meeting, with the Minister briefing the OSCE High Commissioner on the creation of new profiles in secondary schools based on the needs of the labor market, the Ministry of Education and Science said in a press release. Shaqiri expressed gratitude for the role and contribution of OSCE in promoting native tongue education to all ethnic communities living in North Macedonia as a very important step towards mutual understanding and implementation of human rights. "We must appreciate and value the existing diversity of our society and consider it a force from which we can only benefit," said Shaqiri. dk/ik/
