FM Mucunski participates in CoE Committee of Ministers session

Skopje, 14 May 2025 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski addressed the 134th session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, which brought together foreign ministers of the member countries and top Council of Europe officials.

The meeting took place amid current geopolitical challenges with a focus on showing support for Ukraine, the role of the organization in protecting democracy and human rights and on further strengthening of European cooperation, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.

Talks also focused on the Democratic Pact for Europe and ways for developing more inclusive and more resilient democracy.

Views were shared on the implementation of the Reykjavik Summit Declaration, on CoE–EU cooperation and environmental issues through the lens of human rights.

On the sidelines of the meeting, North Macedonia signed the International Convention on the Protection of the Legal Profession and as part of the session, Luxembourg handed over the six-month Committee of Ministers presidency to Malta, said the press release.

On the sidelines, Minister Mucunski met with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to discuss the countries’ relations as well as current geopolitical developments.

Mucunski arrived in Luxemburg after concluding his working visit to Sweden.
