Tirana, 1 July 2022 (MIA) – Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said Friday that North Macedonia should accept the new and final French proposal without hesitation, since it opens the path towards the start of EU negotiations with Tirana and Skopje. PM Rama said he was in continued communication with French President Emmanuel Macron, “who deserves credit for personally overseeing the process for 48 hours.” “According to me, the new and final proposal is an entirely acceptable proposal and the government and parliament of North Macedonia should accept it without any hesitation. The society in North Macedonia should feel completely liberated because the impasse has been overcome and nuances that made the previous proposal unacceptable have now been eliminated,” Rama told reporters.
