Deputy PM Dimitrov meets new Serbian Ambassador Jovanović
Skopje, 26 July 2021 (MIA) – Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov held on Monday a meeting with Serbia’s new Ambassador to North Macedonia Nevena Jovanović. “Interlocutors discussed at the meeting bilateral cooperation in the context of the European integration process, ahead of the Economic Forum for Regional Cooperation, set to take place in Skopje this week,” the Secretariat for European Affairs said in a press release. Deputy PM Dimitrov underlined at the meeting the importance of regional cooperation in preparation for EU membership, as well as in strengthening the region’s stability and resilience. “Intensifying close cooperation between our countries will contribute to a more stable and resilient Western Balkans. It’s also an important segment of the region’s Europeanization. Mutual support in achieving strategic goals and priorities and presenting a united front regarding issues that affect the region are in favor of both national and collective interests and confirm the region’s maturity and decision-making ability, as well as demonstrate leadership when it comes to the peace and prosperity of Europe,” Dimitrov stressed. Interlocutors also talked about the current affairs in the region and their expectations about the European perspective, which entails making the enlargement policy a priority by exhibiting determination and dynamics in the accession process. Moreover, they expressed expectations that bilateral cooperation will continue to improve in the future, both in the area of the region’s socio-economic advancement, as well as in building a joint European future and sharing experiences about the process.
