Mucunski — Malmer Stenergard: Confirming support for Macedonian integration, Swedish commitment to EU's enlargement policy

Skopje, 12 May 2025 (MIA) — Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski on an official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden met Monday with his host, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, their talks focused on bilateral ties and opportunities for deepening cooperation in various areas, including trade and economic cooperation; the country's European integration; and the latest developments in the region, Europe and the world.
Minister Mucunski confirmed the strong partnership and friendly relations between the two countries, thanking Sweden for its strong political partnership and its support on the country's path to the EU.
He also thanked the state and the Swedish people for the quick and decisive response after the fire in Kochani and the medical care for the burn patients in Stockholm.
The Macedonian foreign minister spoke to his Swedish counterpart also about the reforms in the country, highlighting the Growth Plan, the judiciary reform and the implementation of European standards.
Malmer Stenergard confirmed Sweden's support for the Macedonian European integration and its steady commitment to the EU's enlargement policy.
On the current geopolitical situation in Europe and the Western Balkans, Mucunski stressed that the Republic of North Macedonia would continue promoting goodwill, stability, goodneighborly relations, open dialogue and active regional cooperation. mr/
